For the most part of my life, I preferred working on my own but school and work would push me into situations wherein I needed to collaborate.
So I learned. I learned to work with one person, then two, then three.
It wasn’t always easy. Sometimes, you work well with someone and sometimes, it just won’t happen and just ends up frustrating.
There were also a lot of times when it would be pointed out to me that I was again reverting to doing everything on my own.
Up until now, it makes me very uncomfortable to reach out to people. I’m good with my team but going out into the world to share what I can do - it’s still way out of my comfort zone.
I have learned and I am continuing to learn that if you want growth, if you want change, if you want things to happen - collaboration is key.
You have to put yourself out there. You have to be open to vulnerability. You have to be receptive to criticism.
You have to reach out and work with other people.
If this is as hard for you as it is for me - know this, it’s a constant struggle and it’s okay to feel scared but don’t let that stop you.
Bask in the uncomfortable. There’s no other way but through it.
You can do this.
