Alla and I started watching this series about a dystopian future world. In this world, 100 people were sent back to earth to see if it was safe to come back. As soon as they landed, different types of leaders emerged.
There’s one that seemed to rule with brute force, one that wanted to establish rules and one that just wanted to keep the peace.
Mid-season, the series begins to show different facets of these leaders, revealing how they’re not two-dimensional but complex ones. Hard decisions need to be made and it becomes surprising who takes specific actions when choices need to be made right away.
What kind of leader do you want to be?
Being a leader is not easy and if we’re truly trying to lead, then we often find ourselves trying our best to make sure that we are the best versions of ourselves.
Most of the time the people we’re leading do not see the full picture of our decisions no matter how transparent we are.
The truth doesn’t change though -
There’s no one type of leader.
You will be inclined to be a specific type but YOU ARE NOT a two-dimensional person. What you do in the face of difficult situations and decisions will shape who you are but will never define who you truly are.
It’s hard enough to lead and be responsible for a group of people. So don’t beat yourself up too much.
