If You Don’t Want To Feel Undervalued

These days you can easily hire someone and for cheap in various crowd sourcing platforms.

Need a designer?

Go to 99 designs.

Need a programmer, or a writer, or an assistant?

There’s upwork, fiverr and a lot more. The birth and rise of these crowdsourcing platforms made a number of people feeling undervalued.

So what are you to do?

If you don’t want to feel undervalued, then don’t undervalue yourself - your creativity and skills. Stick to what you want and work on getting there. Understand your potential customers.

What is it really that they want?

How can you make a difference for them?

For sure, there are plenty of virtual assistants and VA companies who have the same skills as we have and they are cheaper as one person informed us. But we decided that we did not want to be just another VA company - we wanted to be “it” for the people we want to serve. And we knew that we’re not for everyone.

Some people may not see the value in paying a virtual assistant our asking price. But that’s fine. I am not going to spend time trying to convince someone the value of my chosen profession. What’s important for me, and for Michee is to do work that matters…that makes a huge difference to the lives of the people we sought out to help.
