Last month, Alla and I decided to be more vocal about the things that we are doing beyond I Need A Michee. This includes sharing our journey to being healthy again (we’ve become really unhealthy), trying our best to help stray cats in our area and also our journey to lessening the trash that we create.
It is no longer enough that we are doing these things privately - such as finding ways to lessen our use of plastics by refusing straws and bringing our own containers in the grocery. We have to share it with the “world”.
How else would this spread if you keep it to yourself?
It’s not about humble bragging (I seriously don’t care if you see it that way), it’s about hoping to inspire another person to do the same.
What we’ve both realized is this - as an individual and especially as an entrepreneur, you have the power to influence people.
You have your social media platforms, the people you meet, and your team, that you can affect with your thoughts, goals and actions. It is up to you to use it.
You don’t have to be a big star. You don’t even have to have a million followers. All you need to do is start with your personal clout, your team, and your family.
Whatever it is that you are working on, share it. Be vocal about it.
As Jennifer Lawrence said, "It's not easy to speak out, it's not easy to face criticism on a global scale, but the fact is, I have been given a platform, and if I don’t use it, then I don’t deserve it."
So my question is, you have all these platforms, how are going to use it? How are you going to help the world beyond your business?
