Need Advice, Anyone?

I was asked, if you were to give one important advice to your nieces and nephews or the younger generation, what would it be?

I did not give just one because I’m very giving. Haha.

So here are lessons or advice that I believe are important for the younger generation to consider.

Interfere.

We need more people who will raise their hand and say this is not right or here’s a better way to do things. Don’t let your opinion just run in your head. Try to look for the bright side.

Dire situations happen but surely, if you look really hard, there’s a silver lining somewhere. Call out your heroes.

Don’t be afraid to disagree with them. Don’t do anything half assed.

Or at least try your best not to. Launch even when it’s not yet perfect.

Because perfection is just fear wrapped in gold tin. It’s an illusion. Roll with what you’ve learned along the way. Improve. Be generous. Breathe. Or take a chill pill as what we, the young ones love to say. Trust your abilities. And learn to trust others as well. Be curious. Be considerate of other people’s situations and feelings. Be kind. Do your part in protecting the planet. Support your local farmers. Stop using plastic. Be kinder to yourself. Listen to criticism.

Find out how you can be better at things you’re not so good at and things you’re very good at. You’re not always right. And at the same time, you’re not always wrong. And lastly, don’t take anyone else’s advice as the truth. Pick what helps you be better. That’s another advice. It’s yours for the taking or yours to throw out. It’s always your choice.
