“There’s got to be another way.”
That is the line that runs through my head whenever I hit a roadblock and also the exact line that I shared with one of our VArmies the past week.
In one of her tasks, she was hit with a roadblock. So, I went in the software and tinkered with it a bit. What was supposed to be appearing wasn’t and while I can’t possibly solve the software’s backend, I thought to myself, “There must be another way of getting this data.”
And there was.
I sent her a video on what to do and how I navigated and tested my solution.
She responded with, “Wow. I don’t think I would have figured that out.”
I told her, “it’s a mindset thing.”
First, I am curious, sometimes too curious. If something doesn’t go as planned, I always ask why? What can I do then? And I keep searching for solutions until I feel that I have exhausted all avenues.
Second, I am too proud to let a software defeat me right away. Yes, you read that right. It goes back to, there must be another way and I should be able to figure this out.
When you’ve hit a roadblock, do you just give up and call it a day? Or do find other paths and different ways to navigate through that roadblock?
